A major Information and Communication Technology retailer in Nigeria WESTGATE Technologies has opened a brand new outlet in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital Wednesday.
Located in the City center near the popular Ibom plaza, the ICT company has in stock quality products that can be seen in places like Lagos, New York, Canada, China or London amongst other top cities of the world.
Speaking shortly after the opening ceremony, the Managing Director, Mrs. Ijeoma Ezeudu says, they are in Uyo to offer quality services and products at affordable prices, accessible and with convenience.
Hear her ” we know there are other small small shops here and there but the comfort, convenience and quality of the products is what we’re bringing to Uyo. We also bring better services, genuine products that when you buy you will have quality assurance; we also we also have out of sell support where we train our customers on usage of our products after sell”.
According to her, the Uyo office is the eleventh branch of the company opening in Nigeria, with two branches in Abuja, one each in Port Harcourt, Owerri, Abakaliki, Asaba, Enugu and three in Lagos state and will be covering major commercial cities in Nigeria.
Speaking further, the MD says they are taking advantage of the digital economy space to provide solution to all ICT needs of the people, knowing too well that everything is going online now.
Maintaining that the company is not coming to Uyo to fail following her trend of competitiveness, the MD stated that “Westgate has been in existence for 17 years now, we opened officially at Lagos in 2005, last year 2021 we opened in Abuja, two years ago we opened in Asaba, four years ago Abakaliki, five years ago Owerri. We’re very competitive and because of the genuine of our products, despite challenges in the economy, people still patronized us because they know this is where to shop anytime”.
While reacting to question from newsmen on sustainability of the company in Akwa Ibom and possible expansion, Mrs Ezeudu was of the opinion that “the possibility of sustainability is sure because everything has been put in places and most staff lives here, as such job security cannot arise and this company is run as a corporate organization, and over 100 staff are in our employ, and we have the vision to push forward”.
Our Reporter discovered that apart from products, westgate.ng offered solutions and training and is partnering companies like Apple, HP, Canon, APC, Microsoft, ZKTccd, brother at your side, tp.link and DELL.
And inside westgate shop, products like laptop, tablet, phones, printers, camera amongst others are in stock for wholesale, retail and supply to corporate organizations, schools and individuals.
Products from westgate.ng is very affordable since they are buying directly from manufacturers according to the managing director Mrs Ijeoma Ezeudu, who said that the logistics expenses is cut off and Uyo people will no longer have to travel to Lagos to buy those items as Westgate is now at their door step, with competitive prices and the company uses different channel of distribution to reach customers, with credit facility for retailers.
