Barely a week after the Interim Sole Administrator of the NDDC presented waste management equipment to the Akwa Ibom State government, the commission has added another set to further the State’s waste management course.
The commission’s MD, Mr. Effiong Akwa said the continuous support of Akwa Ibom State Waste Management activities is in recognition of the governor’s concerted effort on the environment and to help in the sustenance of the already-earned cleanest status in the country.
“Akwa Ibom is one State in the Niger Delta region that has performed exceedingly well in environment management, and it is our pride to acknowledge that by supporting her”, he said.
The state-of-the-art equipment which was received from the NDDC storehouse in Port Harcourt by the Chairman of the State Waste Management Agency, Hon. Prince Ikim , on Wednesday afternoon, included 12 Roll-off Dumpsters, 20 skid dumpsters, 1 1000KVA (CAT) generating plant and 20 fire fighting equipment.
The equipment arrived Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, at 1:30 am today, Thursday, February 18, 2021.
The presentation was made by the Head of Stores/Procurement, Mr. Peterside McDodd John, in the company of Mr. Imeobong King, the SA on Security to the interim sole administrator and a cross-section of AKSEPWMA Board Members.
