The Personal Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Morgan Ekanem, Esq., today, Monday 21, 2020 lead members of his team and the Daniel Udo Foundation to make presentations of Waste Bins to the Akwa Ibom State Environmental and Waste Management Board Agency, AKSEPWMA to mark the 33 Anniversary celebration of Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking at the event, the Personal Assitant to the Governor commended the efforts of the Agency in keeping the state clean and rated the state, under the current leadership of the Agency as the most “environmental safety conscious” state. He thanked His Excellency the Governor of Akwa Ibom State for his disposition towards the sanitary and safety condition of Akwa Ibom State. He said his action was inspired by his believe that government should be a participatory process, noting that whereas the Governor may not be able to monitor the sweeping of streets or cut grasses within the state, appointees of government should and are expected to partner the governor, within their capacity to make the state work. He thanked the Daniel Udo Foundation for funding the project from start to finish.
Making the Presentation, the representative of the Daniel Udo Founation, Mr Wisdom Enang expressed satisfaction over the activities of the Agency and noted that attaining environmental sustainability is a key way in securing the future for the next generation. He therefore commended the chairman of the Board for their dedication to service and the Personal Assistant to the Governor for reaching out to them and for accepting their partnership.
The Chairman of the Board, responding on behalf of the Board said there was no better way to celebrate Akwa Ibom at 33 than as demonstrated by the Personal Assistant to the Governor and the Daniel Udo Foundation. He accepted the items and promised to make effective use of them. He called on other well meaning Akwa Ibom Citizens to rise and act in the interest of the state.
The bins are to be deployed at the Unity Park/Cenotaph, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
