A’Ibom: Defunct Nsit Ubium Radio To Get Facelift

The Executive Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Hon. Udemeobong Sylvanus Bassey has vowed to revamp Nsit Ubium Radio.

Radio remains one of the most widely used media of mass communication and one that is quite popular in rural communities.

Its appeal lies in its immediacy, affordability and portability and economically, it is a big conveyor of money and employer of labour.

Interestingly, did you know that Nsit Ubium local government area once had a community radio test run?. Had it seen the light of the day, it would have been the first radio station privately owned by a local government in this part of the world.

Quite regrettably, successive administrations of the council area had somewhat overlooked the need to revamp the radio facility.

But all thanks to the pragmatic and projects oriented approach of the current Executive Chairman, Hon. Udemeobong Sylvanus Bassey, the Nsit Ubium Radio may have life breathe into it once again, quite sooner than later.

With the studio and transmission mast still very much in place, Hon. Bassey has set his eyes on relaunching the moribund station with a fresher impetus.

On full take off, Nsit Ubium will be the first council area to own a radio facility in this clime. It will be a thing of incredible pride to the people.

This is yet another milestone, big project effort of the Hon. Udemeobong Bassey’s led administration. He is perpetually committed to opening up several economic frontiers for the people of Nsit Ubium and deserves to be preserved and sustained.
